The design concept behind the Beaver is compactness but still handy to do most Bushcraft type jobs and then some. There's nothing delicate about the Beaver as it's 4mm thick D2 steel and the handle still provides for a safe and comfortable grip. If one wants a compact knife that's easily carried or stashed away in one's backpack, then the Beaver is ideal.
I'm an advocate of small knives for small jobs and large knives for large jobs, the Beaver is an ideal knife to pair up with one of my larger Bushcraft models; namely the DL1, Allrounder and even the Talisman

A full matching Shadow / Beaver set including Firesteel and Ceramic Sharpening rod in separate leather pouch.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This Desert Ironwood handled set bound for the USA comes with a Piggyback Sheath and two individual Sheaths plus three matching Firesteels. The request was for plain workmanlike Sheaths, which in this case take nothing away from the knives.
Hello, I received the knives and sheaths this afternoon. They are truly beautiful, I'm looking forward to using them. I appreciate all the work you have put into them. It obvious from the quality of the workmanship that this is not just a hobby for you but a labor of love. Thank you very much

SHADOW / BEAVER SET IN D2 STEEL
These have been handled with Thuya Burl and Mosaic pins.
Hi Paul,
Got the knives.........
In a word Stunning! You really did the business with the two knives, they are immaculate! I am so pleased as they are a sight to behold. The wood detailing is mesmerising, pretty much 3 dimensional. The mosaic pins have so much intricate detail; a work of art.
The shadow is coming with me on a wild camp in the Lakes very soon; can't wait.
Thank you so much for the oil too that was very generous of you and I am very grateful.
If you have time and space to put this in your list of testimonials that would be great too; could even send you some very micro images of the detail (I'm a very proud owner ☺
Many thanks! Mark |

This is the last of the 01 Tool steel Beaver which I handled with Thuya burl, originally for myself...
And yes, the handle is really that highly figured and even more stunning in real life.

Please note that as these knives are individually hand made, all measurements stated must be considered as approximate and some minor variations from blade to blade and knife to knife are to be expected as no two knives are ever the same!
Also... Handles made from natural materials will often vary in form and finish, especially in the case of Burl wood, antler and horn. Moreover, minor voids and other irregularities are inherent in natural materials and such imperfections are what gives knives there unique look and character.
